Usage Steps
Steps for measuring with a ground resistance tester
1) Insert two ground probes into the ground at distances of 20m and 40m from the grounding body along the radial direction, with a depth of 400mm, as shown in the figure below.

2) Place the ground resistance tester flat near the grounding body and connect the wires as follows:
① Use the shortest special wire to connect the grounding body to the terminal "E1" of the ground tester (for three-terminal testers) or to the common terminal after shorting C2 and "E" (for four-terminal testers).
② Use the longest special wire to connect the measuring probe (current probe) 40m away from the grounding body to the terminal "C1" of the tester.
③ Use the remaining medium-length special wire to connect the measuring probe (potential probe) 20m away from the grounding body to the terminal "P1" of the tester.
3) After placing the tester horizontally, check whether the pointer of the galvanometer points to the center line. If not, adjust the "zero adjuster" to make the pointer point to the center line.
4) Set the "multiplier scale" (or coarse adjustment knob) to the maximum multiplier, and slowly turn the generator crank (the pointer starts to deflect), while turning the "measurement dial" (or fine adjustment knob) to make the galvanometer pointer point to the center line.
5) When the galvanometer pointer is close to balance (near the center line), speed up the crank rotation to a speed of 120r/min or more, and adjust the "measurement dial" to make the pointer point to the center line.
6) If the reading on the "measurement dial" is too small (less than 1) and difficult to read accurately, it indicates that the multiplier scale is too large. In this case, set the "multiplier scale" to a smaller multiplier, readjust the "measurement dial" so that the pointer points to the center line, and read the accurate reading.
7) Calculate the measurement result: Rground = "multiplier scale" reading × "measurement dial" reading.
