Cable and Pipeline Locator is a high-performance underground metal pipeline detection system, consisting of a signal transmitter and a receiver. It can be used for path detection, pipeline survey, and depth measurement of metal pipelines and underground cables. With various optional accessories, it can perform unique identification, as well as locate pipeline insulation damage and certain types of cable faults.
Cable and Pipeline Locator main features:
1. Full-featured, safe, fast, and accurate fault testing. The instrument uses low-voltage pulse method and high-voltage flashover method for detection, can test various cable faults, and directly test flashover and high-resistance faults of power cables without burning through. If equipped with an acoustic point locator, it can accurately determine the fault point location.
2. High testing accuracy. The instrument adopts high-speed data sampling technology with a reading resolution of 1m. High intelligence. Test results are automatically displayed on a large LCD screen in small size and data, making fault judgment intuitive. It also features menu-driven operation, requiring no special training for operators.
3. Has waveform and parameter storage and recall functions. Uses non-volatile devices, so waveforms and data are not lost after power off.
4. Has dual-trace display function. Can compare the test waveform of the faulty cable with a normal waveform, which is helpful for further fault judgment.
5. Has waveform expansion ratio function. Changing the waveform ratio can expand the waveform for precise testing.
6. Control measurement cursor, can automatically search along the line and automatically stop at the inflection point of the fault waveform.
7. Can arbitrarily change the position of dual cursors, directly displaying the direct or relative distance between the fault point and the test point.
8. Has printing function. Print and archive the test results.
Composition:
Generally consists of two main parts:
1. Transmitter: Applies a special frequency signal current to the pipeline under test, typically using three excitation modes: direct connection, induction, and clamp.
2. Receiver: The receiver has built-in induction coils that receive the magnetic field signal of the pipeline, generating induced current to calculate the direction and path of the pipeline. There are generally three receiving modes: peak mode (maximum value), null mode (minimum value), and wide peak mode; more advanced instruments usually have a peak arrow mode (combining the advantages of both peak and null for more intuitive operation) and compass guidance (to indicate the direction of the pipeline).
