How to Use a Microcomputer Relay Protection Tester
Specializing in the research, development, and production of microcomputer relay protection testers, our YTC1000 microcomputer relay protection tester is well-received by electrical workers due to its fast testing speed, high precision, and convenience and reliability. It is a flagship product of our company!
AC Quantity Setting
After entering the effective values of voltage and current, press the "Confirm" key or click the mouse to another position, and the written data will automatically retain three decimal places. The default unit for voltage is V, and for current is A. When setting the phase, you can enter any angle within the range of -180 to 360 degrees. If the entered angle exceeds the above range, the system will automatically convert it to within that range. For example, entering "-181 degrees" will automatically convert to "179 degrees". In the vector diagram window, you can observe in real time the effect diagram of the magnitude and direction of each set AC quantity vector.
The single-phase maximum output for AC voltage is 120V. When a higher voltage is needed, any two voltage channels can be used in series; their amplitudes can be different, but the phases should be opposite. For example: set Ua output to 120V, 0 degrees, and Ub output to 120V, 180 degrees, then the effective value of Uab output is 240V.
The YTC1000 microcomputer relay protection tester has 6 phases, each with a maximum of 30A. To output a larger current, multiple current channels can be used in parallel; when used in parallel, the phases of each phase should be the same. When using high current output, try to use thicker and shorter wires, and keep the output time as short as possible.
In the figure on the previous page, the "Change" column next to the effective value setting for AC quantities is used to select whether the output quantity is variable. If you click the mouse to check "√" in the "Change" column after the effective value or phase of a certain phase, it indicates that the output phase can be changed, and the "Step" column also changes from gray to highlighted, meaning the "Step" is allowed to be set. The minimum step for amplitude change is 0.001, and the minimum step for angle change is 0.1.
The "Upper Limit" column is used to set the maximum allowable effective value output for each phase. During the test, if you are worried that a certain phase might accidentally output too much and damage the relay, you can set an "Upper Limit Value" for that phase, so that during the test, that phase will never exceed the limit, ensuring the safety of the relay. The default "Upper Limit Value" in the software is the maximum output amplitude of voltage and current.
Manual Mode
The changes of each variable are completely controlled manually. Manually press the "Down" or "Up" key on the keyboard on the toolbar, and each variable will increase or decrease by one step. When the protection operates, the tester emits a "beep" sound and records the action value that needs to be recorded. If you also need to measure the return value of the protection, then decrease or increase the variable in the opposite direction until the protection contact returns, the "beep" sound disappears, record the return value that needs to be recorded, and automatically calculate the return coefficient.
Semi-Automatic Mode
In this mode, when "Increase" or "Decrease" is selected, after starting the test, each variable will automatically increase or decrease by the step, and the time interval for increase/decrease can be set. When the protection operates, the tester automatically records the quantity to be recorded and maintains the output but pauses the change, while a dialog box pops up to request the next change direction: "Increase", "Decrease", or directly "Stop" the test. Select a change direction according to the test requirements.
Fully Automatic Mode
In this mode, when "Increase" or "Decrease" is selected, after starting the test, each variable will automatically increase or decrease by the step, and the time interval for increase/decrease can be set. When the protection operates, it automatically records the quantity to be recorded. If "Only test contact action" is selected, the device will automatically stop the test after measuring the action value; if "Test action value and return value" is selected, after measuring the action value, the device will automatically reverse direction and change the variables in the opposite direction until the device contact returns, thereby measuring the return value, recording it, and calculating the return coefficient.
The usage methods of microcomputer relay protection testers produced by different manufacturers are similar. Electrical workers should first read the product instruction manual carefully and conduct tests strictly according to the requirements of the manual to achieve the testing accuracy of the instrument.
