Precautions and Common Problem Protection for SF6 Gas Quantitative Leak Detector

Precautions and Common Problem Protection for SF6 Gas Quantitative Leak Detector:

I. Precautions

The SF6 gas quantitative leak detector is a portable precision test instrument, so special attention should be paid to the following points:

(1) Do not switch the instrument power on or off in hazardous areas!

(2) Do not charge the instrument in hazardous areas!

(3) Prevent collision, extrusion, and severe vibration during transportation or testing.

(4) During use, when the battery indicator shows insufficient power, charge it promptly. To charge, simply connect the power cord to a 220V power supply without turning on the instrument's power switch. The instrument will charge automatically. The charging indicator light is red during charging and turns green when charging is complete.

(5) The SF6 gas quantitative leak detector must be stored with a full charge. If it is not used for a long time, check the battery level frequently to ensure it remains sufficiently charged.

II. Common Problems

► How long does charging generally take? When is charging needed? When does charging end?

Each charging time varies depending on the remaining battery level, generally less than 12 hours. When the battery indicator shows insufficient power, charge it promptly. It is not advisable to fully drain the battery to ensure its service life. The charging circuit is equipped with an overcharge protection device. When the battery is fully charged, the charging indicator light will change from red to green.

► How often does the SF6 gas quantitative leak detector need calibration and maintenance?

It is generally recommended that users calibrate the instrument every two years, or every six months in special cases (when the gas path is heavily contaminated).

► Why does the instrument pause and then the data drop during measurement?

This is the sensor performing the gain regression function, which returns to the previous test process for calibration. At this time, the data on the interface does not move, but the CPU is processing data, so after a while, the data drops again.

► How to protect the sensor?

The built-in sensor of the SF6 gas quantitative leak detector is protected by a probe protection chamber. When running, the protection chamber is automatically shielded by the detector, putting the instrument in measurement state. Conversely, when the power is turned off, it automatically protects.
