Precautions for Using Dry-Type Test Transformers

  (1) Before testing, the "〨" terminal on the shell of the high-voltage dry-type test transformer and the ground terminal "〨" on the power control box must be properly grounded; otherwise, it will endanger personal and equipment safety.

  (2) Before operation, you must be familiar with the electrical schematic and wiring diagrams of the high-voltage test transformer and the power control box. If performing DC withstand voltage and leakage tests, you can first rotate the high-voltage diode or microammeter to the high-voltage end of the high-voltage test transformer.

  (3) After preparation and checking that the wiring is correct, you can close the main power switch, and the red switch indicator light will turn on. If it does not light up, turn the voltage regulator handle counterclockwise back to zero; the indicator light on the red stop button should be on, otherwise the start button will refuse to cooperate.

  (4) Press the start button, and the green button indicator light will turn on. Then, rotate the voltage regulator handle uniformly and slowly clockwise at a speed of 1.5-2 kV per second, gradually increasing the high voltage while closely watching the voltmeter indication and the condition of the test object, until the required test high voltage is reached.

  (5) To test the withstand voltage time of the product, you can set the desired time on the timer, then press the timer and alarm switch. The product will be tested for withstand voltage within the set time, and then an alarm will sound. If the tested product breaks down, the overcurrent relay will automatically trip, and the voltmeter reading at that time is the breakdown voltage value of the product.

  (6) If you need to protect the tested product from breakdown, you can first connect a discharge protection ball gap in series on the high-voltage side and adjust the discharge voltage of the protection ball to about 1.15 times the test voltage.
