Fault Causes and Troubleshooting of Cable AC Withstand Voltage Test Device

Cable AC Withstand Voltage Test Device fault causes and troubleshooting methods are as follows:

1. Internal temperature too high, power component thermal protection;

Troubleshooting: Turn off the instrument power, let the instrument sit for about 30 minutes, then turn on the power again, press the "Reset" button on the instrument panel, and then start the instrument.

If the fan still cannot start, please contact the manufacturer. Do not disassemble the instrument!

2. Automatic tuning cannot be completed, resonance point not found:

Phenomenon: The tuning curve is completely a straight line, and after tuning is completed, the instrument prompts that there is no resonance point

Cause: Poor grounding of the circuit, incorrect wiring of the test circuit, or an open circuit in one of the instruments in the device

Troubleshooting:

1.) Check that the grounding device is reliable and whether there is a break point in the grounding connection wire;

2.) Check the continuity of the high and low voltage coils of the excitation transformer;

3.) Check the continuity of each reactor;

4.) Check the continuity of the signal wire of the voltage divider;

5.) Check the continuity of the high and low voltage capacitor arms of the voltage divider;

6.) If there is no resonance point when the device boosts voltage by itself, also check the continuity of the compensation capacitor;

If all components are normal and there is still no resonance point, please contact the manufacturer. Do not disassemble the instrument!

3. Cannot boost to the test voltage

Phenomenon:

1.) The tuning curve is a curve with a lower peak;

2.) During the test, the primary voltage is high, but the high voltage is low. Even before reaching the test voltage, the primary voltage has already reached the rated voltage, and the circuit automatically reduces voltage;

Cause:

The Q value of the test circuit is too low, the test loop resistance is too large, or the test frequency is not in the tuning range. The specific reasons are as follows:

1.) The test loop wiring is too long, and the wire diameter is too thin, or the connection points are loose, resulting in large loop resistance;

2.) The test frequency is too low or too high, not within the tuning range of the device;

3.) The test loop grounding is poor, causing leakage current;

4.) The test transformer or reactor has a short circuit or partial short circuit;

5.) The test cable is too long or has high capacitance, making it difficult to tune;

6.) The voltage divider has a fault, causing inaccurate measurement;

Troubleshooting:

1.) Check the test loop wiring, shorten the wiring length, increase the wire diameter, and tighten the connection points;

2.) Adjust the test frequency to within the tuning range of the device;

3.) Improve the grounding of the test loop to reduce leakage current;

4.) Check the test transformer and reactor for short circuits or partial short circuits;

5.) For long cables or high capacitance, consider using a compensation reactor or adjusting the test method;

6.) Check the voltage divider for faults and ensure accurate measurement;

If the problem persists after the above checks, please contact the manufacturer. Do not disassemble the instrument!
