The GM series adjustable high voltage digital megohmmeter has high test voltage, high power, and the measured object often carries power frequency leakage or induced high voltage interference. Therefore, for personal safety, be sure to connect the safety grounding wire first when using this instrument!
After the high voltage is started, do not use manual discharge to check the instrument. After the test, wait for the instrument to automatically discharge and the voltmeter to return to zero before performing routine manual discharge for safety! Because the strong electrical pulse wave from short-circuit discharge can damage the insulation life of the measured object. If the pulse enters the instrument, it can also damage the integrated circuits inside!
This instrument is designed and developed to test the insulation resistance characteristics of large high-voltage transformers, motor electrical equipment, remote power cables or buried cables, etc., under strong interference at high-voltage substations and power plants. It can also be used for insulation resistance characteristic measurement in a wide range of fields.
Product Features
1. Strong anti-electric field interference capability, reaching 2mA (50Hz), known to adapt to on-site testing of insulation resistance parameters of 500kV large transformers without disconnecting wires in 500kV substations.
2. The short-circuit current of the test power supply is >5mA, reaching 15mA. Suitable for testing large capacity and large inductance.
3. Wide resistance measurement range, from 0.5MΩ to 2000GΩ. Accurate readings and high resolution.
4. Wide voltage range of the test power supply, selectable from 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2.5, 5, 10, 15kV, or smoothly adjustable from 0V continuously to the required voltage.
5. Has timing and chime function to remind users to record and analyze the absorption ratio and polarization index of the measured object.
Working Principle
The GM series adjustable high voltage digital megohmmeter uses the ratio meter method equivalent to the traditional megger to measure insulation resistance. It uses the division function of a dual-slope integrating digital voltmeter to perform ohm-to-digital conversion. The test voltage of 0-5-10-15-20kV is generated by a feedback-type separately excited DC voltage converter circuit.
