How to Use a Dry-Type Test Transformer

(1) Before testing, the high-voltage
dry-type test transformer's shell "〨" terminal and the grounding terminal "〨" of the power control box must be properly grounded; otherwise, it will endanger personal and equipment safety.

    (2) Before operation, you must be familiar with the electrical wiring diagrams of the high-voltagetest transformer and the powercontrol box. If conducting DC withstand voltage and leakage tests, you can first connect the high-voltage silicon stack or microammeter to the high-voltage terminal of the high-voltage test transformer.

    (3) After preparation, check the circuit for correctness, then close the main power switch; the red switch indicator light will turn on. If it does not light up, turn the voltage regulator handle counterclockwise back to zero; the indicator light on the red stop button should be on, otherwise the start button will refuse to operate.

    (4) Press the start button; the green button indicator light will turn on. Then rotate the voltage regulator handle clockwise uniformly and slowly at a speed of 1.5-2 kV per second. The high voltage will gradually rise, and closely watch the voltmeter indication and the condition of the test object until the required test voltage is reached.

    (5) To test the withstand voltage time of the product, you can set the timer to the desired time and then press the timer and alarm switch. The product's withstand voltage will be tested within the specified time, and then an alarm will sound. If the tested product breaks down, the overcurrent relay will trip automatically; at this time, the voltmeter reading is the breakdown voltage value of the product.

    (6) If you need to protect the tested product from breakdown, you can first connect adischarge protection sphere gap in series on the high-voltage side, and adjust the protection sphere discharge voltage to about 1.15 times the test voltage.
