Safe Use of Ultra-Low Frequency High Voltage Generator: These Points Must Be Remembered

 1. Personnel using the ultra-low frequency high voltage generator must be professionals with a "High Voltage Test Work Permit".

  2. Users of the ultra-low frequency high voltage generator must comply with Article 168 of the "Electric Power Safety Regulations" and install two obvious disconnection points before the working power enters the test device. When changing test samples and wiring, the two power disconnection points should be clearly disconnected first.

  3. Before testing, please check whether all test wiring, control box, voltage doubling cylinder, and grounding wires of the test sample are properly connected. The grounding wire of the test circuit should be connected according to the manual, with single-point grounding.

  4. When DC high voltage is 200kV or above, even if test personnel wear insulating shoes and stay outside the safety distance area, due to the influence of the high-voltage DC ion space electric field distribution, several nearby standing human bodies may carry different DC potentials. Test personnel should not shake hands with each other or touch grounding bodies with their hands, otherwise there may be a slight electric shock. This phenomenon is more obvious in dry areas and winter, but since the energy is small, it generally does not cause harm to the human body.

  5. For discharging large capacitance test samples, use the ZS special discharge resistor rod to discharge the test sample. When discharging, do not immediately contact the test sample with the discharge resistor rod. Gradually approach the test sample with the discharge resistor rod. When the air gap starts free discharge at a certain distance, there will be a hissing sound. When there is no sound, use the discharge resistor rod to discharge, and then directly connect the ground wire for discharge.

  6. The control box power supply of the portable ultra-light DC high voltage generator is AC 220V±10%, 50Hz. If the power supply goes through a 1/1 isolation transformer or uses on-site self-generated power, it is necessary to manually connect one point of the power supply to the earth.

Years of theory and practice at home and abroad have proved that using 0.1Hz ultra-low frequency withstand voltage test to replace power frequency withstand voltage test not only has the same equivalence, but also greatly reduces the size of the equipment and greatly reduces the weight. Theoretically, the capacity is about one five-hundredth of the power frequency, and the operation is simple. This is the main reason why developed countries generally adopt this method.
