Overview of KYN High-Voltage Switchgear

Switchgear (also known as complete switchgear or complete power distribution equipment): It is electrical equipment mainly composed of circuit breakers; it refers to the assembly of relevant high and low voltage electrical appliances (including control appliances, protection appliances, measuring appliances) as well as busbars, current-carrying conductors, insulators, etc., into a closed or open metal cabinet according to the requirements of the primary electrical wiring diagram, serving as a device for receiving and distributing electrical energy in the power system.

Normal service conditions:

. Ambient temperature: The surrounding air temperature should not exceed 40°C (upper limit), generally -5°C (lower limit) in ordinary areas, and can be -15°C in severe cold areas. If the ambient temperature is too high, the conductivity of metals will decrease, resistance will increase, and surface oxidation will intensify; on the other hand, excessively high temperature will also greatly shorten the lifespan of insulation components inside the cabinet and reduce insulation strength. Conversely, if the ambient temperature is too low, internal stress will be generated in insulation components, ultimately leading to their damage. 2. Altitude: Generally not exceeding 1000 meters. For equipment installed at altitudes above 1000 meters, the insulation level of external insulation should be determined by multiplying the required insulation withstand voltage by the correction factor Ka [ka=1÷(1.1-H×10-4)]. Due to the thin air at high altitudes, the external insulation of electrical appliances is prone to breakdown, so reinforced insulation type appliances are used, increasing air insulation distances, or adding insulation protection measures inside the switchgear. 3. Ambient humidity: The daily average should not exceed 95%, and the monthly average should not exceed 90%. 4. Seismic intensity: Not exceeding 8 degrees. 5. Other conditions: Places without fire, explosion hazards, severe pollution, chemical corrosion, and violent vibration.
