1 Large and medium-sized transformers should have permanent or temporary facilities for lifting the bell housing and the required working space.
2 The installation of the pressure relief device should ensure smooth oil discharge in case of an accident, and it should not spray into cable trenches, busbars, or other equipment. If necessary, shielding should be provided.
3 Transformers should have a nameplate, and the operation number and phase markings should be indicated.
Distribution transformers installed indoors, on platforms, or on poles should also be numbered and have warning signs hung.
4 During transformer operation, it should be possible to safely view the oil level of the conservator and bushings, top oil temperature, and gas relay, as well as to safely take gas samples. If necessary, fixed ladders should be installed.
5 Transformers installed indoors (or in caves) should have adequate ventilation to avoid excessive temperature rise.
For transformer rooms equipped with mechanical ventilation, a remote signal should be sent when the mechanical ventilation stops. The ventilation system of the transformer should generally not be connected to other ventilation systems.
6 The door of the transformer room should be made of flame-retardant or non-combustible materials and should be locked. The name and operation number of the transformer should be indicated on the door, and a sign saying "Stop, High Voltage Danger" should be hung outside.
7 The location where oil-immersed power transformers are installed should be equipped with fire-fighting facilities and accident oil storage facilities according to relevant design regulations, and they should be kept in good condition.
8 For transformers installed in areas with seismic intensity of VII or above, the following anti-seismic measures should be considered:
a. Fix the transformer chassis to the track;
b. When transformer bushings are connected to flexible conductors, they should be appropriately loosened; when connected to rigid conductors, the transition flexible connection should be appropriately lengthened;
c. When the cooler is arranged separately from the transformer, the transformer should be connected to the cooler through valves, flexible joints, and connecting pipes;
d. The transformer should be equipped with an anti-seismic gas relay;
e. The chassis of pole-mounted transformers should be fixed to the support, and the upper part should be firmly tied to the pole.
9 When the actual short-circuit apparent capacity of the system where the transformer is located exceeds the value specified in Table 2 of GB1094.5, the requirement should be proposed to the manufacturer when ordering; for transformers in operation, measures should be taken to limit short-circuit current. The operating time of the transformer protection should be less than the duration of the short-circuit thermal withstand capability.
10 If online monitoring devices reflecting insulation conditions are installed on the transformer, their electrical signals should be collected via sensors and reliably grounded. Devices for collecting dissolved gas samples from oil should have good sealing performance.
